What determines the value of a diamond?
Color
Diamonds are ranked by color from Colorless to Light Yellow, with Colorless being most desirable. G.I.A. ranks its diamonds using the alphabet from D (Colorless) to Z (Light Yellow.)
There are also diamonds which may be pink, yellow, red, blue or green. These are extremely rare diamonds, prized for the richness of their color.
clarity
A diamond's clarity ranges from flawless to included. Diamonds that fall within the range of SI1 and higher are often referred to as "Eye Clean." This Means that there are no inclusions visible to the naked eye. The higher the clarity, the more expensive the stone.

cut
The Cut of a diamond refers to its angles and proportions. A well cut diamond displays the cut too deep or too shallow cause the Diamond to look less brilliant and are less valuable.

Carat simply refers to the Weight of the diamond.
